Lesson Plan

19. Lesson Plan

The Lesson Plan feature in TeachShare Creator is designed to streamline the process of designing comprehensive, standards-aligned instructional sequences. This tool allows educators to quickly generate full lesson plans from a single prompt, saving valuable time and ensuring high-quality, evidence-based instruction.

Creating a Lesson Plan

Educators can access the Lesson Plan tab from the TeachShare Creator interface. The process is intuitive and guided by several key parameters:

  1. Prompt: Users begin by entering a description of the desired lesson. For example, "Team-based review activity about major historical events."
  2. Preset: Educators can choose from pre-defined templates or structures that suit their teaching style or the specific requirements of the lesson.
  3. Grade Level: Selecting the appropriate grade level ensures that the generated content, reading passages, and activities are developmentally appropriate and rigorous.
  4. Instructional Purpose: This dropdown allows teachers to specify the goal of the lesson, such as introducing a new concept, providing independent practice, or reviewing material.
  5. Time: Setting the duration of the lesson helps the AI structure the activities and pacing appropriately.
  6. Attachments: Educators can upload supplementary materials, such as readings or worksheets, that the AI should incorporate into the lesson plan.

Generation and Customization

Once the parameters are set, clicking "Create Outline" prompts TeachShare's AI to generate a structured lesson plan. The AI automatically applies evidence-based instructional strategies and aligns the content with relevant curriculum standards.

The generated lesson plan typically includes phase guidance, such as an introduction, direct instruction, guided practice, independent practice, and closure. The AI ensures that the lesson flows logically and provides tailored support for small groups or diverse learners.

Editing and Refinement

After the initial outline is created, the lesson plan opens in the TeachShare Resource Editor. Here, educators can review the entire sequence, edit specific sections, add or remove activities, and customize the content to perfectly fit their classroom dynamics. The TeachShare Assistant chat is available to help refine the lesson plan further, allowing teachers to ask for alternative activities, different scaffolding options, or additional assessment questions.
